She raced the 100 back three times at the Summer Championships to beat her record time of 1:00.52:

  • Prelims: 1:01.12
  • Finals: 1:00.67
  • Time trial: 1:00.48

Avramova did not compete in this event at the 2016 Rio Olympics, but this time would have earned her 12th place in the semifinals.

Avramova currently holds the 50 back and 200 back National Records, but she did not race the 50 back on Tuesday. She set the national mark in that event at 28.41 at the 2016 Turkish Championships. Avramova is not scheduled to swim the 200 back on Friday.

On the men’s side, Yiğit Aslan broke the 800 free National Record with a time of 7:51.60 on Tuesday.

Aslan, a class of 2025 Wisconsin commit, beat second place finisher and previous National Record holder Mert Kilavuz by nearly 4 seconds.

Kilavuz, a class of 2025 Georgia Tech commit, set the mark at the 2020 Greek Winter Championships with a time of 7:55.28 and then lowered it this year with a time of 7:54.77.

He also holds the National Record in the 1500 free which will be contested on Friday. Aslan is not entered in the event.
