Hesam Jafari Tests Positive for THC, Receives 4 Year Ban

Water polo player Hesam Jefari of Iran has tested positive for carboxy-THC, a Class S.8 Cannabinoid, following an in-competition doping control test sanctioned by the Iranian National Anti Doping Organization (NADO).

Austin Sectionals Day 4: Pickrem Picks up 200 IM, Trostok 50 Free

Crushing the field by nearly seven second, Pickrem pulled away from the field after the fly to easily out-split the field on the latter three legs of the medley. Coming in second was Dakota Luther of local Austin Swim Club with a time of 2:21.34.

FINA Issues Statement on Anti-Doping

Tuesday, FINA released a statement on its anti-doping efforts for the first half of 2016. The samples, taken between January and the end of June, 2016, come as part of a targeted anti-doping program.

2016 Swedish Nationals Day 4: Sjostrom and Alshammar Blitz 50 Fly

Sarah Sjostrom left the field in her wake in the 50 fly finals today, winning the race in a blistering 25.07. Now six-time Olympian Therese Alshammar came in 2nd with a 25.78, the only other swimmer to go sub-26 in the race.

Milliken Resigns, Daniels Becomes Head Coach at Kalamazoo College

Kathy Milliken announced her resignation as head coach of men’s and women’s swimming and diving at Kalamazoo College last week, as well as the promotion of Jay Daniels to head coach for the upcoming 2016-2017 season.
