- 2nd World War Memorial (Southside) Pool, Wandal, Queensland, Australia
- LCM (50m)
- Recap #1
- Results: Meet Mobile – 2025 Rocky City Twilight Meet
The 2025 Rocky City Swimming Club Twilight Meet concluded in Australia but not before Olympic medalist Meg Harris put up another powerful performance.
We reported how the 23-year-old clocked a super speedy outing of 24.48 in the 50 free; however, Harris also ripped a big-time result of 52.86 to win the 100 freestyle.
Harris opened in 25.38 and closed in 27.48 to register the 4th-fastest time of her career. She’s been as swift as 52.52, her personal best scored at the 2024 Olympic Trials so her time here was only .34 outside that result.
Additionally, Harris’ 52.86 checks in as her fastest ever effort outside of a Trials or Championships competition. Her previous best-ever in-season mark came in the form of the 53.17 logged at the Brisbane Metro in March of 2024.
She now represents the #1 swimmer in the world, dethroning Hong Kong’s Siobhan Haughey who is the only other sub-53-second performer thus far.

Congratulations AUSSIE OLYMPIC MEDALIST MEG HARRIS on clocking an IN-SEASON BEST 52.86 100 FREESTYLE
Well done.
Randy
What about her 52.59 and 52.60 from spring of 2024? It was before Olympic trials. Is that not in season?
Was clearly tapered at nationals.
Pan Pacs gold incoming
I hope Shayna Jack can get back to swimming 52s again as we need to rebuild the depth in time for LA28
I’m confident in one of Milla Jansen, Hannah Casey, Abbey Web or Jaimie de Lutiis stepping up.
If Meg Harris were an American swimmer, the title would be “Olympic gold medalist” instead of “Olympic medalist” on the account of her two relay gold.
I’ve seen American swimmers were regularly referred to as “Olympics gold medalist” or “Olympic champion” even though they didn’t even win an individual medal, on the account of relay gold.
Meg Harris won in Olympic: 2 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze
In World Championship: 6 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze, including 50 free gold.
Meg is so underrated
Awww little brother woke up from hibernation and is cranky ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
Oh! Sad
Hear hear! Meg is a real phenomenon!
