Arkansas Dolphins’ Andrew Rogers Undercuts National Age Group Record in Dallas

10-year old Andrew Rogers of the Arkansas Dolphins has broken the second-oldest 10 & under record on the books when he swam a 59.81 in the 100 yard fly on Saturday at the COR Winter Classic in Richardson, Texas, a suburb of Dallas.

That beat the 59.97 done by Iowan Zachary Ferguson back in 1992. Ferguson would go on to a standout career at Arizona that included a load of academic-athlete honors.

The only record remaining that’s older than this one in the age group is the 200 yard IM from 1982 done by the legendary Chas Morton.

Andrews team mate, 12 year old Alexander Ware broke the meet record in the 50 meter freestyle. This record was last set in 2011.

Technically, the COR Classic is being hosted in Rockwall, not Richardson.
