Anna Moesch: “In the beginning of the season, I don’t really think I expected to go under 1:40”

2026 NCAA Division I Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships

Last night, sophomore Anna Moesch made waves by swimming the #2 200 freestyle of all-time, touching at 1:39.23. Coming into this season, the Cavalier hadn’t been under 1:42 and has now dropped over 3 seconds since last season. Moesch admitted that coming into this season, she didn’t expect to dip under 1:40 and is pleasantly surprised at how close she came to the NCAA record.
