After competing in the 100 & 200 breast and 100 IM through the first two days of competition in Carmel, Olympic medalist Alex Walsh scored her first win on the final day. Walsh touched first in the 200 IM at 2:04.7, nearly half a second ahead of Britain’s Abbie Wood. After the race, Walsh mentioned that she has switched up her training and upped her yardage as of late.
HOW TO WATCH THE WORLD AQUATICS WORLD CUP
A comprehensive look at television and streaming options for the meet can be found here.
U.S. viewers can watch both prelims and finals on the USA Swimming Network and Peacock, Canadians can stream every session on CBC, and the source for the majority of European nations will be the Eurovision Sport platform.
The competition will also be streamed live and on-demand with the World Aquatics Recast channel. A three-day pass requires 590 credits, which costs $8.26 USD.

I would like to see Alex Walsh train for the 400 IM as was the case the first four years of her collegiate career.
We know how you feel, girl.
Yaaaas Alex!!! 👏 Hope Alex adds the 200 free to her events.
Alex is a star. She’s so easy to root for. Always liked her, and respect her talent and versatility.
Sounds like she’s committed to the LA Olympics?
yesssss Alex, killing it as always – can’t wait to see what she does the next two stops. I would love to see her do a 200 free too – led off in a 1:53.2, that’s pretty solid
Always well-spoken and personable! Good to see that she was able to finish her 2 IM strong during a heavy yardage training block. 200 IM triple crown maybe? And I agree with swimfan27, I would love to see the 400 IM back in her repertoire!
200 IM Triple Crown incoming!
Can’t wait to see her ascend. Hope she adds the 400 IM back into the mix…would love to see her do it at one of the World Cup stops.
enter some fly and back events!!
Alex’s fly and back are too good to be playing catch up with breast lately in her 200 IMs
and yes, exciting to hear 2028 from Alex
she will have competition from Summer and younger swimmers coming!
I assume it’s just her strategy that makes her fall back slightly on backstroke? Ease up a little on back and let her natural speed carry her through so she has more to give on the breaststroke and freestyle? Because I think her backstroke can go toe to toe with every IMer in the world right now besides maybe Summer. I mean she went a 2:08 LC 200 back when she was a teenager. I would love to see her in the 2 back again.
Kaylee McKeown has the slowest back split in 200 IM among Summer, Kate, and Alex lol.
Nathalie Couglin had slower back split than Stephanie Rice in 200 IM in Beijing final.
They definitely go easy during back.
Kate Douglass is done with the 200 IM. It’s the 100 BR, 200 BR, 50 FR, 100 FR (4 x 100 FR-R) from now on.
In addition, the heats/semis of the W 200 IM conflicts with heats/final of the W 4 x 100 FR-R on Day 1 of the World Aquatics Championships.
Furthermore, the W 50 FR and W 200 IM are scheduled on the last day of the USA Swimming National Championships.
