Air Force Grabs Verbal From NCAP’s Megan Simpson

The Air Force women have added Megan Simpson to their 8-member recruiting class this season. Simpson is an NCSA Junior Nationals qualifier from Virginia and will bring depth in the sprint events for Air Force.

Simpson is close to having an immediate impact at the conference level in the 100 fly. Her best in that event is a 57.68, less than a second off the 56.72 it took to get 24th at the 2015 Mountain West Conference Championships.

Simpson’s Top Times:

50 Free 25.32
100 Free 55.02
100 Breast 1:10.15
100 Fly 57.68

Aside from the 100 fly, Air Force has some options for which events Simpson will swim. Her 50 free is currently a 25.32, and falls on day 1 of the conference meet. She has personal bests of 55.02 and 1:10.15 in the 100 free and 100 breast respectively. The 100 breast falls on the same day as the 100 fly, so the 100 free is a viable option for Simpson’s 3rd event.

She’s shown major improvement over the years, dropping her 100 fly time down to the 57 range after holding a best of 1:00.44 prior to that season. With some more drops, she could score points for the Air Force women at their conference meet, and will have multiple areas to contribute in dual meets.
