Isabelle Stadden has looked like a swimmer reborn this weekend at Westmont. With the 100 back final looming tonight, Stadden has already gone best times in the 50, 100, and 200 Back, the latter two of which hadn’t happened since 2021.

Stadden spent 5 years in the NCAA competing for Cal but then took some time away from the pool. Deciding to come back and give the sport another try, Stadden landed with the UVA pros, and so far, it has seemed like the right decision for her.

I’m not sure if I’m just seeing things, but it looks like she’s more physically fit. I’m not sure what she’s been doing the last few months or years, but she looks very fit. I can only assume that’s played a role in her resurgence.

49.4 is crazy for a practice for someone who’s pb is officially 50.2

It’s been a minute since anyone mentioned the DeSorbo stopwatch. But Isabelle, this weekend, is proving that perhaps he’s not off by much.

Was it stopwatch or timing system with pads?

I watched the 2 practices GW posted and the first one it was just Todd’s stopwatch but the second one where she went her 200bk pb did had touch pads and GW went a 20.90 Stadden said the 49.4 was after the 200bk so it wasn’t posted (it might end up being posted later idk) so idk if they are using touchpads from now on or not but there is a good chance it was with touchpads.
