The Michigan women swam to a new Big Ten Record in the women’s 400 medley relay en route to a win, touching in a 3:24.08. That broke the previous record of a 3:26.35 set by Ohio State in 2022.

Bella Sims led off in a 49.12 tonight, over two and a half seconds ahead of the split that Emily Crane led Ohio State off back in 2022. Sims notably swam to 2nd place in the individual back earlier tonight as she touched in a 49.75, 0.03 seconds behind Wisconsin’s Maggie Wanezek.

After already setting a Big Ten Record in the 50 free tonight, Brady Kendall was also a big difference maker in tonight’s relay, with a 50.10 on the butterfly split. That is Kendall’s fastest 100 fly split of her career.

Michigan’s win tonight marks their first win in the 400 medley relay since 2020 when the team of Maggie MacNeil, Miranda Tucker, Olivia Carter, and Daria Pyshnenko won in a 3:27.68.

The Michigan women have been dominant at the 2026 Big Ten Championships and head into the final night of competition with 883 points, over 150 ahead of 2nd place Ohio State (714.5 points).
