  8. Jeremy Kelly (ND)- 1:43.73

Graduate student Arsenio Bustos made his return to the ACC Championships in dominant fashion, winning the men’s 200 IM in 1:40.39. The win marked Bustos’ 3rd ACC title in the 200 IM as he also won the event in 2023 (1:40.31) and 2024 (1:40.75).

Bustos did not compete for the Wolfpack last year when the men’s program finished 3rd with 1021 points, behind Stanford (2nd, 1065 points) and Cal (1st, 1271.5 points). He did not compete at all for the team during the 2024-2025 season as he was dealing with injury. His return is key as NC State looks to vie for the team title this week in Atlanta.

Coming into ACCs this week, Bustos had only been as fast as a 1:47.88 this season, a time from midseason. That sat well outside of the 1:42.65 that it took to make the 2025 NCAA Championships. Midseason was the last time he competed in the event, although he did compete in three of the team’s dual meets in January.

Will he be timed final to a 9th place swim at NCAA’s though? This guy is historically not a morning swimmer. Nice to see him back though!
