Cleveland, OH – Niagara Swimming got a solid outing in their first action of the New Year.

Women won six events, led by junior Alaina Pitton’s victories in the 100 Breast, 200 Breast, and 200 IM. In the Breaststroke races, she never trailed, while the IM relied on a solid back half to overcome the field.

Natalie Killion added a pair of wins in the 200 Free and 200 Back, with her dominant performances right at her season bests. She also was a key leadoff leg of both relays that finished second.

Marty Divis led the 500 Free from start to finish for her first-place touch. Getting out to the lead early, she never relinquished it.

On the relay side, the quad of Killion, Pitton, Vlaeminck, and Jackson teamed up for a second-place finish in the 200 Medley Relay. For the 400 Free Relay, Killion, Carl, Gorton, and Vo came together for another silver performance.

The men saw three event wins from three individuals. Ethan Hunter showed off his back half speed to win the 200 Fly. His second 100 of the race was the fastest in the field by over a second.

The 200 Back saw a competitive field come down to the final touch with the top four finishers all within three tenths of a second. It was sophomore Sam Dalinis who was able to get his hand on the wall first out in lane 10 to claim a hard-fought gold.

Lance Cruz utilized his versatility to fight off a late push and win the 200 IM.

At the end of the meet, the men’s 400 free relay of Domanovac, Brock, Mikula, and Eaton fought for second place, just getting out-touched for first.
