Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Julien Lee, a pure breaststroke specialist, has announced his commitment to swim for Boston College beginning in the fall of 2026. He publicized the news on Instagram, writing:
I’m excited to announce my commitment to continue my academic and athletic journey at Boston College! Huge thanks to Coach Dara and Coach Bruno for believing in me and giving me this incredible opportunity. Thank you to Coach Franz and Coach Jody for guiding me along the way, and to my family and friends for their endless love and support. I’m super grateful to everyone who has supported me on this journey.
A senior at Jesuit High School in Portland, Oregon, Lee has been a member of his school’s swimming and diving team since his freshman year while training year-round with the Hillsboro HEAT Swim Team in Beaverton.
Over the past 12 months, Lee has dropped his 100 breast from 56.24 to 55.96 and his 200 breast from 2:04.03 to 2:03.52.
Throughout his high school career, Lee has finished in the top five of the 100 breast at the Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA) 6A State meet in each of the past three years, placing fifth as a freshman (59.01), fourth as a sophomore (57.22), and runner-up as a junior (56.56).
Over the summer, Lee qualified for Junior National Championships, where he posted best times of 1:04.18 in the 100m breast (31st), 29.41 in the 50m breast (43rd), and 2:21.71 in the 200m breast (59th).
He most recently competed at Winter Junior Championships, finishing 88th in the 100 breast (57.24) and 97th in the 200 (2:07.30), slightly off his 2024 debut at the meet when he placed 54th in the 100 (56.20) and 71st in the 200 (2:04.38).
Lee is still searching for a third event; his 1:56.88 in the 200 IM stands out on paper, though he would need to approach sub-1:50 to score in dual meets and postseason competition.
Top SCY Times:
- 100 Breaststroke: 55.96
- 200 Breaststroke: 2:03.52
- 200 IM: 1:56.88
The Boston College men’s team, led by head coach Dara Torres, finished 13th at the 2025 ACC Championships. The meet offers ‘A,’ ‘B,’ and ‘C’ finals, and it took times of 53.12 in the 100 breast and 1:55.80 in the 200 breast to score points, along with 1:44.70 in the 200 IM.
Harrison will make an immediate impact once he arrives on campus, as he would have ranked fourth in the 200 breast and sixth in the 100 breast had he competed last season. Senior Jack Doyle led the Eagles in the 100 breast at 53.77, while sophomore Aiden Bucaria topped the team in the 200 breast with a time of 1:59.61.
Lee joins a 2030 recruiting class that currently includes Peyton Harrison, Michael Zhou, Austin Ross, and Demir Ayrikaya. Harrison is also a breaststroker, though he’s slower in the 100 at 56.46 but faster in the 200 at 2:00.86.
