Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Pointe-Claire Swim Club swimmer and Montreal, Quebec native Justine Lapierre has verbally committed to the University of Nevada as a part of the Wolfpack women’s 2026 recruiting class.
I am super excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Nevada, Reno!! Thank you to all my friends, family, teammates and coaches for supporting me throughout this journey! I also want to give a HUGE thank you to Brendon and Adriana for giving me this amazing opportunity! Can’t wait to join the pack!! #gopack 🐺
Lapierre raced at the Speedo Canadian Championships (SCM) this past August, where she had her top placement in the 400 IM, touching 7th overall in a lifetime best effort of 4:57.72. In addition to her 400 IM success, Lepierre finished 13th in the 200 IM, setting another top time in 2:21.88, and rounded out her performance with a 14th-place finish in the 100 IM (1:07.75).
This summer, Lapierre swam at the Grand Prix du Quebec (Quebec Grand Prix) and set a few long-course best times. She swam her fastest 200 IM (2:25.89) and 400 IM (5:01.36) at that meet, as well as a pair of best times in backstroke events, including the 100 back (1:11.08)and 200 back (2:30.66).
Along with her IM talent, Lapierre also holds some additional long-course breaststroke times of 1:14.77 in the 100 breast and 2:36.45, both of which were set at the Bell Canadian Swimming Trials in 2023.
Best Times Converted to SCY:
| Event | LCM | SCY Conversion |
| 200 IM | 2:25.89 | 2:08.54 |
| 400 IM | 5:01.36 | 4:25.72 |
| 100 Breast | 1:14.77 | 1:05.55 |
| 200 Breast | 2:36.45 | 2:17.34 |
The Nevada women finished 4th at last season’s Mountain West Swimming and Diving Championships.
Based on Lapierre’s converted times, she would have qualified for the ‘C’ final in the 200 breast and 400 IM, and placed 39th in the 200 IM.
The IM skill set is there, but her 200 breaststroke has some potential to contend within the Mountain West. Lapierre has not clipped those long-course breaststroke bests since 2023, so the switch to yards could be a fresh start.
Lapierre joins Ava Swigart, Ana Schulz, and Hayden Young in Nevada’s 2026 recruiting class.
