CSP Tideriders’ Brody Blatt has verbally committed to Colorado Mesa University as a part of the 2026 recruiting class.
I chose CMU because of how incredible the team culture is. Everyone was very genuine and the coaches have improved their athletes a lot. CMU is in a beautiful location in Grand Junction Colorado so the outdoor culture is really big there. It’s close to Moab Utah and a bunch of other super awesome Colorado locations. CMU is looking to grow their program to win the NCAA d2 national championship and our recruiting class is very strong and we are all excited to grow this program and raise the level!
Blatt ended his summer campaign at the Speedo Junior National Championships (LCM), where he shinished 65th in both the 200 backstroke (2:08.79) and the 400 IM (4:35.84).
One of his best short course showings came in Columbia, Mo, at the Speedo sectionals in March. Where Blatt rewrote his personal recordbook, notching lifetime bests in the 200 free (1:39.06), 500 free (4:33.80), and 200 back (1:49.06)/ Two years earlier at the same meet, Blatt swam a best 1650 free time at the same meet that still stands at 16:16.31.
Blatt represents Parkway Central High School, where he has helped lead his team to three straight MHSAA Boys Class 1 State Championship team titles. As a junior, Blatt finished runner-up in both of his individual events. He flocked 1:40.09 in the 200 free and 4:34.47 in a team winning effort.

- 1650 Free: 16:16.31
- 200 Back: 1:49.06
The Colorado Mesa men won the Rocky Mountain Athletics Conference Swimming and Diving Championships last season.
Based on Blatt’s best times, he would have finished 3rd in the 200 free, 4th in the 500 free, and 9th in the 1650 free at those championships.
Blatt is an immediate contender in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, and still has just under a full year to improve upon those times before he makes his collegiate debut.
The 200 back has some potential to be a threat as well, his current time would have been 7th, it would just likely have to be a sacrifice of one of his other primary events, to make it happen. The switch would likely come in the form of the 1650 free.
Blatt will join Briz Dewitt, Austin Felio, Brady Bennett, and Denny Woods in Colorado Mesa’s 2026 recruiting class.
