Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Peyton Harrison of Louisville, Kentucky, has announced his commitment to swim at Boston College. Currently attending Saint Xavier High School and swimming year-round for Lakeside Swim Team, Harrison will head east next fall to begin life in the ACC.

Harrison made the announcement on Instagram, writing:

I am extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Boston College! I would like to thank my coaches, family, and friends for all of their support over the years. Thank you to the Boston College coaching staff for this incredible opportunity. I can’t wait to be part of such an amazing team. Go Eagles!

Harrison is a versatile swimmer who specializes in IM and breaststroke, but often swims both backstroke events and the 100 butterfly. He’s on a steady improvement trajectory, having chopped multiple seconds off his best times in his primary events each year of his high school career.

The future Eagle’s target meets of the 2024-25 campaign were the Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA) State Championships and the Speedo Southern Premier, both held at the end of February.

At State, he stopped the clock with a best time every time he touched the water. He kicked things off with his fastest-ever 50 back split, leading off Xavier’s winning 200 medley relay in 23.93, before going on to take bronze in the 200 IM (1:50.21) and sixth in the 100 fly (50.99). He capped things off with a 21.38 leadoff on the third-place 200 free relay.

The Southern Premier meet saw Harrison slice another tenth off his 200 IM mark, recording 1:50.11 for fifth place. He continued his personal-best streak with a 2:01.66 in the 200 breast for fifth, 3:54.43 in the 400 IM for seventh, and 56.65 in the 100 breast for 10th. Outside of best times, he was 22nd in the 100 back at 51.57, just four tenths off the 51.17 he logged at a local meet in October, where he also set his current 200 back best of 1:51.04.

Top SCY Times:

  • 200 IM: 1:50.11
  • 400 IM: 3:54.43
  • 100 Breaststroke: 56.65
  • 200 Breaststroke: 2:01.66

The Boston College men, led by head coach Dara Torres, finished 13th at the 2025 ACC Championships. ‘A,’ ‘B,’ and ‘C’ finals are offered at the meet, and it took times of 1:44.70 and 3:47.80 in the IMs and 53.12 and 1:55.80 in the breaststrokes to score.

Harrison will have an immediate impact once he arrives on campus, as he would have ranked second in the 400 IM, third in the 200 breast, fourth in the 200 IM, and seventh in the 100 breast last season. Senior Jack Doyle led the way in both IMs and the 100 breast, recording times of 1:44.62, 3:48.50, and 53.77, while sophomore Aiden Bucaria was the team’s fastest 200 breaststroker at 1:59.61.

Harrison joins a 2030 recruiting class currently made up of Austin Ross and Demir Ayrikaya.
