Patrick Puzon, a Virginia independent schools state champion, has announced his commitment to swim for the University of Lynchburg beginning in the fall of 2025.

Puzon recently graduated from Trinity Episcopal School in Richmond, where he was a member of the school’s varsity swimming and diving team all four years. A versatile threat in the pool, he currently swims year-round with SwimRVA Rapids and where he excels at sprint freestyle and the 100s of stroke.
Puzon made it to the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association (VISAA) Swimming & Diving State Championship four years in a row, qualifying for finals at each competition. His top performance came in 2024, when he won the 50 free in 20.83. Puzon also took the runner-up spot in the 100 free in a lifetime best time of 45.98 and helped his team to a 2nd-place finish in the 200 free relay and a 3rd-place finish in the 200 medley relay.
At the 2024 BASS Turkey Classic back in November, Puzon turned in a series of strong performances. He was the runner-up in both the 50 free (21.95) and the 50 fly (23.99 – SB), and he placed 3rd in the 100 fly (54.08), 5th in the 50 breast (30.43) and 5th in the 100 breast (1:08.52).

A Division III program, Lynchburg competes in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference, where the Hornets placed 3rd at ODAC Championships this past season. Based on the results from the 2025 championship, Puzon would have landed in the ‘A’ final in the 50 free, 100 free, 100 fly and 100 back and in the ‘B’ final in the 200 free, setting him up to be a key contributor right from the start.
Outside of the pool, Puzon enjoys playing basketball, going to the gym and spending time with his friends and family.
Set to join Puzon in Lynchburg this fall are Chris Bergreen, Jordan Balk, Jackson Holsten, Henry Brooks and Ben Loughmiller, all of whom should make for strong training partners over the next four years.
