April 2025 – OCEANMAN, the leading global open water swimming series, is proud to announce its official launch in the United States. With events already established across Europe, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East, OCEANMAN now expands into the U.S., bringing its unique spirit of international competition and community to American waters.
Founded in 2015, OCEANMAN is the first global open water swimming circuit created by and for open water swimmers. The series hosts events in over 25 countries and is known for combining world-class competition with inspiring natural venues and a welcoming atmosphere for athletes of all levels.
“We are excited to bring OCEANMAN to the United States,” said Fermin Egido, OCEANMAN CEO. “The U.S. has a vibrant swimming culture, and we believe OCEANMAN will resonate deeply with athletes looking for new challenges and meaningful experiences in open water. This is a significant milestone for our global community.”
OCEANMAN USA will maintain the international format of the series, offering various distances — including short, medium, and long races — in stunning open water locations across the country. The events will be open to all levels, from recreational swimmers to professionals, with a strong emphasis on safety, inclusion, and excellence.
“It’s an honor to introduce OCEANMAN to the United States,” said Lenny Krayzelburg, 4-time Olympic Gold Medalist, co-founder of OCEANMAN USA. “It’s hard to believe that OCEANMAN hasn’t been in the U.S. until now — a country where swimming is such an integral part of the culture. This series invites swimmers from around the world to experience the beauty of our open water locations and become part of something bigger. Our mission is to grow a passionate community and deliver unforgettable race experiences that unite swimmers across borders.”
