DAVIS, Calif. –   In the first conference meet of the season, the Aggies fall just short of victory against the UC San Diego Tritons in today’s matchup.

In the sixteen-event meet, the Aggies squared off with the Tritons in multiple events: ranging from the electric 50 freestyle to long and powerful 1650 freestyle races.

“We believe that we saw pool records from both teams today which was exciting, especially this early in the season” said head coach Matt Macedo. “We responded well to the pressure from the 50 freestyle event through the end of the meet.”

The most notable performances include sophomore Naomi Boegholm and senior Katie McLain’s first and second place finishes in the 50 yard freestyle. The Davis “A” relay squad that consists of McLain, Boegholm, Christy Douglas, and Sophi MacKay placed first in the 200 yard relay.

For the divers, junior Mackenzie Young topped the charts in the three meter event with her season best score of 276.75, while freshman Katherine Lim was seated first in the one meter.
