Cohen Earns CAA Diver Of Week After Breaking Record

Towson University senior diver Alex Cohen of the Tiger men’s swimming and diving team was named the Colonial Athletic Association Men’s Diver of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.

Cohen earned the award after a record-breaking performance in leading the Tigers (8-1) to a victory over McDaniel College on Saturday.

“Alex was confident and consistent with his list on Saturday,” Towson Head Diving Coach Maureen Mead said. “We’re already back to work with plans for improving for the next meet.”

Cohen broke his own Towson school record in the one-meter dive by scoring 307.13 points on Saturday, nearly nine points higher than his previous mark. He also won the three-meter event with a 288.53 score.

In was his fourth weekly honor of the season.

The Tigers have completed the fall semester of competition and resume their meet schedule January 3-4 at the Georgia Diving Invite.
