The Israeli Swimming Association has revealed its initial lineup of 11 swimmers for this summer’s Olympic Games in Paris, France.

Gorbenko leads the way with an impressive 4 individual events, including the 200m IM, 400m IM, 100m back and 200m back. Across the Mare Nostrum Tour, 20-year-old Gorbenko fired off new Israeli national records in all but the 100m back, setting new standards as follows:
  • 200m back – 2:08.54 (Barcelona)
  • 200m IM – 2:08.55 (Barcelona)
  • 400m IM – 4:34.70 (Monte Carlo)

Frankel leads the men with 2 individual events, with his portfolio consisting of the men’s 100m free and 100m fly.

Of note, this is the first time in Olympic history that Israel has qualified 4 relays, with the men’s 4x100m free relay, men’s and women’s 4x200m free relays, and the mixed medley relay making the grade for Paris.

At the 2020 edition of the Olympics, Israel missed making the podium, with the highest finish coming from Gorbenko’s 8th place in the women’s 100m back.

Adam Maraana is half Arab Muslim, half Russian Jew. Great support case for the “apartheid” chants…

Anyone knows what time Soloveychik have done in the 200? Since Eitan Ben Shitrit went 1.47,6 at israeli trials and posted the third fastest time at the meet. And then you have Frankel, so Ben Shitrit is 4th? Anyone knows

He went 1:47.2 in prelims and 1:47.5 in finals.
Loktev owns a NR of 1:46.1 so he will swim along Frankel, Groumi and Soloveychik.

I see no mention of either of the polonskys. Anybody know how far away they are from cuts?

1:58.7 for Ron and 2:12.7 for Leah.
Leah was 1:58.8 in the 200 free so she would probably be selected for that.

Ron is the leading candidate to swim the BR lag in the mixed relay. Leah will probably swim in the 200 relay and a slight chance veteran Andy Murez MD! Will swim the FR part in the mixed relay!

I really love how SwimSwam only reports on Israeli swimming now because just the mere mention of Israel prints money
