After taking a break from swimming for most of 2013, South Korea’s Park Tae Hwan made his return to the sport this week at the 94th National Sports Festival: swimming in the natatorium named in his honor in Incheon, South Korea.
He’s already broken the pool in as he well should: with three gold medals. That includes a new Meet Record of 3:46.71 in the 400 meter freestyle (long course), which crushed the old Meet Record by 7 seconds.
The video above is of his win in the 400 free, and the two below are relay swims from the meet. Park has four golds in total: he’s also won the 200 free in 1:46.42, and took golds in the 400 and 800 free relays (both below). That includes the 800 free relay, where (swimming from the bottom of the screen below) he made up roughly 20 meters on his anchor leg for gold number 4. He’ll still have one more opportunity in Thursday’s 400 medley relay.
