WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point diving teams dominated Seton Hall on Saturday to close out the two-day competition. The men defeated the Pirates 201-97 to improve to 3-0 in the season, and the women were victorious 181-113.
The Men’s Meet
Army won both events taking the number one spot in decisive fashion. Picking up where the swim team left off, the Black Knights further extended their lead when sophomore Isaac Newman defeated Seton Hall’s Joel Satir with a score of 328.58. Sophomore David Manelis won the 3M dive definitively with a final score of 325.05 securing Army with nine points.
The Women’s Meet
Just as dominating as the swim team, the Black Knights swept the 1M and 3M dive. Minh Donnell finished first in both events, picking up nine points for Army. In the 1M, Donnell won with a score of 248.85 and in the 3M, she won with a score of 303.38.

“Couldn’t have been happier with the way the meet played out. We had people managing the nerves of this being their first (college) meet, folks dealing with injuries and the inconsistency that can happen this early in the season. Cadet’s Corner
Minh Donnell on this weekend’s meet:
“It was a great first home meet where all of our divers got to compete together. Not to mention our swimmers who gave us a great head start to the meet by crushing all their races. The energy at the pool was the best it’s ever been, so our divers got to compete really well. We, as a team, are in a great place but moving forward we can start making more improvements to advance competition for our meet against Navy.”
Isaac Newman’s take on this weekend’s meet:
“It was a great day to be at home competing. We have a very supportive group of divers and having the swimmers cheering added to our home field advantage. As the first home meet of the year, I can tell that the work we are all putting in, is paying off. Which puts us in a better spot for future meets.”

West Point, N.Y. – Seton Hall women’s swimming and diving fell to Army on the road by a final score of 181-113.
Natalie Heim (Middletown, N.J.) took home a victory in the 100 Free, touching the wall with a time of 52.19. Heim also took home a second place finish in the 200 Free, finishing the race with a time of 1:53.78. Mandy Zajdzinski (Mesa, Ariz.) finished just behind Heim in third place with a time of 1:54.65.
Julie Stampe (Allerid-Birkerod, Denmark) picked up a trio of second place finishes on the day. Her first came in the 100 Back, completing the race with a time of 58.17. Her second place finish in the 200 Back came in 2:05.59, while her 200 IM time was 2:10.88. Stampe also swam the first leg of the 200 Medley Relay in which the Pirates took third.
In diving, Nikki Pawar (Lawrenceville, N.J.) and Laura Stavila (Oakland, Calif.) both earned top-three finishes in the 1M and 3M events. Pawar took second in the 1M with a score of 207.38, just ahead of Stavila’s third-place score of 202.58. The duo flip-flopped their finishes in the 3M, with Stavila taking second and Pawar claiming third.
The Pirates have two weeks off before beginning a stretch of three consecutive home meets, starting with a matchup with Monmouth on Oct. 28 at 3 p.m.
West Point, N.Y. – Seton Hall men’s swimming and diving fell to Army on the road by a final score of 201-97. Michael Klimaszewski (London, England) won a pair of events on the evening.
In their first event the quartet of Ross Pantano (Bennington, Neb.), Ben Endersby (Caldwell, N.J.), Klimaszewski and Tommy Minar (Oxford, Conn.) earned a third-place finish in the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:32.10. Pantano would go one to record two other top-three finishes individually, capturing second place in the 100 Back and the 200 IM.
Klimaszewski repeated his performance from a week ago, winning both the 200 Fly and 100 Fly. The freshman finished the 200 Fly with a time of 1:50.09, while his winning time in the 100 Fly was 49.50.
In the diving portion, Joel Satir (Greenwich, Conn.) notched a pair of second-place finishes. The sophomore earned second with a score of 243.15 in the 1M dive, while his score of 283.73 in the 3M also was good enough for second place.
