Seattle Rounds Out Regular Season With Win Against SW Oregon

SEATTLE  – It was a Senior Day show for the Seattle U Redhawks, who defeated Southwestern Oregon Community College in the final regular-season meet of the season. The men won 157-99 on total points while the women won 180-67. The women won 13 of 14 events and the men won ten of 15, with the Redhawks finish second or better in 28 of 29 total events.

The Redhawks put three new times in their all-time top ten in the meet. Lydia Genson won the 200 Free and put up the ninth-fastest time in Seattle U history with a 1:53.90. Genson’s 2:05.99 time in the 200 Back was also the ninth-fastest ever in that event. Kalie Bui had the seventh-fastest 200 Breast in Seattle U history with her 2:23.05. Bui also won the 100 Breast with a 1:06.77.

Cole LantingAllison Plamondon, and Sammy Mosier also won multiple individual events, joining Genson in that regard. Lanting won the 200 IM with his time of 1:55.21 and won the 100 Free with a 46.80. Lanting won the 200 Free Relay, along with Michael LunaTyler Goodspeed, and Nicholas Imig, with a time of 1:26.35.

Plamondon won the 50 Free with her time of 24.41 and won the 100 Free with her time of 53.46. Plamondon, Marissa ChanAnna Edwards, and Emma McGill won the 200 Free Relay as well with their time of 1:42.09.

Mosier won the 100 Fly (58.23) and 100 IM (59.31) individually. She joined Genson, Danika Himes, and Emilia Culberson in winning the 200 Medley Relay with a 1:49.89. On the men’s side, Will CoronaJack NetonEmmett Moore, and Goodspeed won the 200 Medley Relay with a 1:34.99.

Corona also won the 100 Back with a Seattle U season-best 50.97. Isabella Guadiamos had a season-best time for Seattle U in the 200 Fly, winning it with a 2:15.06. Michaela Day had a Seattle U season high in the 1000 Free, winning it with a 10:43.15.

Imig, Neton, Chan, Ryan AscencioMilan Saric, and Juan Varela all earned event wins as well. Imig won the 50 Free (21.76). Neton took home the 200 Breast title (2:07.18). Chan won the 100 Back with her time of 1:02.70. Ascencio won the 200 Fly with a 1:54.33. Saric earned the 100 Fly title (51.04). Varela once again won the 1650 Free (16:31.99).

With the regular season all wrapped up, the Redhawks head to the WAC Championships next. Seattle U will compete in the conference championships beginning Wednesday, February 23.
