Jolie Kim of the Denver Hilltoppers has committed to MIT for this coming fall. She’s a senior at the Kent Denver School in Colorado.
So excited and humbled to announce my comMITment to continue my athletic and academic career at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Ever since I walked into campus and spoke with the team, I knew it was the place I wanted to be. Thank you to my friends, family, and coaches for supporting me for helping me get here. Kim recently hit a few lifetime bests, going PRs in the 200 fly, 1000 free and 1650 free at the 2021 Phoenix Sectionals in March.
At the 2021 Colorado HS 3A State Championships, Kim won the 500 free state title (5:08.76) and touched second in the 200 free (1:55.93). She also hit a lifetime best 53.73 leading off Kent Denver’s fourth-place 400 free relay.
During the 2019-20 collegiate season, Kim would’ve led the MIT Beavers in the 500 free, 1000 free and 1650 free. She would’ve also been third on the roster in the 100 fly and fifth in the 200 fly. MIT’s butterfly group last year was pretty dominant, as they went 1-2-3-4 in the 200 and 2-3-4-5 in the 100 at the 2020 NEWMAC Championships.
At 2020 NEWMACs, Kim would’ve made A-finals or placed top-eight in the 100/200 fly, 200 free, 500 free and mile.
