Come Tokyo, Guy is not only eyeing individual hardware but also looking to top the podium in the 4×200 free and 4×100 medley relays, both of which Britain has taken 1 world title in at the last 3 world Championships (4×200 gold in ’15, ’17, 4×100 medley gold in ’19).

With Adam Peaty going a :55+ and their other strokes pretty solid now, I don’t see how the US can beat the UK in the 4×100 medley. The US will be lucky to have someone 59 low.
Careful what you wish for.
I’d say the US are clear favourites to win the medley relay, if you add the best times for the past 2 years, the US is about a second and a half faster. Then again you could have Peaty go 55.9, Scott go 46 low and they could go win, but you could also have Murphy and Dressel destroy Greenbank and Guy and the US will go WR.
Has Peaty split 55? I thought his best split was 56.5? Most recently he has split low 57 regularly. Which will still be a big swing for GBR.
US could have 59.0 vs 57.0 and still win as they did in Rio. However that required the other three US legs to be perfect. GB have very good swimmers in all four legs now but I would expect USA to gain on Back and Fly. Free depends on the day but I don’t expect Scott to do 46.1 again as that was a unique set of circumstances.
GB gold, US silver!
I’d love to see GB win but I Just don’t see Scott replicating that anchor leg and the US probably would’ve won in 2019 if they’d swam Apple instead of Adrian. The 4×100 medley is still the US’s to lose.
