15-Year-Old Parker Reynolds Hits OT Cut in 1500 at Mt. Hood Futures

Like the other Futures meets, Mt. Hood kicked off yesterday with finals of the women’s 800 free, men’s 1500 free, and both the men’s and women’s 800 free relays. University of Alabama’s Cathryn Salladin, competing for La Mirada Armada, won the women’s 800 free. Salladin touched the wall in 8:59.57, 10 seconds off her personal best of 8:49.20. She narrowly touched out Washoington State’s Ryan Falk, who clocked an 8:59.86, which was 2 seconds off her best time.

15-Year-Old Parker Reynolds of Santa Maria Swim Club dropped 10 seconds on his way to winning the men’s 1500. Reynolds hit the wall in 15:41.73, significantly dropping from his previous best of 15:52.22. With that swim, Reynolds qualifed for next Summer’s Olympic Trials! the OT cut is 15:44.89.

Tulatin Hills Swim Club ran away with the women’s 800 free relay. Lily Gardner led off in 2:05.10, followed by Sofia Nosack (2:07.58), Ryan Falk (2:05.26), and Elizabeth Cook (2:03.65), for a final time of 8:21.59. They won the race by about 9 seconds. Tulatin Hills  also won the men’s 800 free relay. Samuel Donchi led of in 1:53.71, followed by Diego Nosack (1:56.86), Marco Nosack (1:55.47), and anchored by Trenton Martinez in 1:51.91 for a final time of 7:37.95.
