There’s also a press release on Swimming Australia’s web site saying that 1964 Olympic bronze medalist Peter Reynolds (backstroke on the medley relay) passed away on May 1 after a fight with cancer.
And Ervin Zador, one of the main players for Hungary in the infamous ‘Blood in the Water’ match with the USSR at the Melbourne Olympics and late a longtime coach in California, also died in Saturday.
A very sad week for the sport indeed.
