Guo, Townsend Attend NCAA Woman of the Year Ceremony

Massachusetts Institute of Technology swimmer Margaret Guo was honored as the 2016 award winner at the NCAA Woman of the Year Ceremony. While Guo was the winner, there were 2 other women from swimming and diving in attendance for the ceremony. University of Miami diver Kara McCormack and Kenyon College swimmer Haley Townsend were invited to the event after being named among the finalists for the award.

Last season, Guo was a part of 3 MIT relays that set New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Records. She earned 5 All-American honors and 6 All-Conference honors. Townsend, on the other hand, was a 7-time North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) champion. She broke 3 Kenyon school records and garnered 3 runner-up finished at the NCAA Division 3 Championships.

McCormack was the ACC Diver of the Year in 2013. She’s been named a CSCAA All-American 3 times in her career. Last season, she competed in the 1-meter and 3-meter at the NCAA Division 1 Championships.
