WATCH NC State’s Stewart Swim 43.9 100 Back in Old School Jaked

NC State freshman Coleman Stewart has been doing some crazy fast swimming in practice lately. Most recently, he put on one of the old full body Jaked suit to swim a 100 back for time. From a push, Stewart blasted a very fast swim, with the 4 stopwatches used to time him getting the following times: 43.9, 43.9, 44.0, and 44.1. His split to the feet at the 50 was a 21.3.

Check out the swim in the video below.

According to Head Coach Braden Holloway, NC State has a tradition of picking someone who has looked good during holiday training to do a suited swim for time from a push. Coach Holloway informs the chosen swimmer a day or two before their last practice, and the swimmer then chooses if they want to do a 100 or 200. If the swimmer beats the goal time Coach Holloway gives them, the whole team gets to do one less round of NC State’s traditional set in the final practice.

The goal time for Stewart to beat was a 47.00. Needless to say, he demolished that time, and the team got out of one round of their big set.

It’s Christmas day in 2016 and everyone is talking about NC State…. I didn’t even know NC State has a swim team about 3 years ago…

Like it or not, they are doing what other teams aren’t. Kuddos to Holloway and co. Merry Christmas!

Obviously this is a bogus swim and means nothing. To consider this a real time is ridiculous. The real time for his swim would be around 45.5 – 46.2 . You must start on when he first begins to move to push off, at that point he heard the start (“set”). There is usually a reaction time of 0.6-0.8 sec. He started his swim at “set” so all times would be from there or before. I got 45.5 consistently from his first reaction.

All of these NC State fans, calm yourselves. He’s not going a 43-44 at NCAA’s when his best time is a 46 high. Maybe in a few years.

Where does Ryan Murphy the Olympic gold medalist in the 100 and 200 LCM back fit into your plan? Is he suppose to get second place? You need to wake up. You’re having a wishful dream. The reigning NCAA record holder Ryan Murphy has won both the 100 and 200 backstroke at NCAAs every year since 2014. And he’s suppose to finally lose in his senior year after setting a world record in Rio in the 100 LCM back. And I’m not a Cal fan. I just believe in facts.

Is it wrong to be a fan of Texas? I like many colleges, but I stick to common sense, unlike a half-witted NC State fan girl who believes absurd language and logic correlates to validity. Good day

I got 44.5. I too started my watch when his feet left the wall….just like i would do at practice for anyone. In a real race, you would start your watch when they say go so you would have to add the reaction time which for backstroke is normally .5 to .6. It is a great practice swim but it is no 43.9 like in a meet would be…..plus there is a reason why those suits were banned. Would of, should of, could of…..
