Minnesota AA Record-Holder Corey Lau Verbally Commits to Princeton

Minnetonka, Minnesota-based breaststroker Corey Lau has made a verbal commitment to the application process at Princeton University.* Lau is a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American from Minnetonka Swim Club and Minnetonka High School.

“I am blessed to announce my commitment to the application process at Princeton! My support system has given me countless opportunities and I could never thank them enough. GO TIGERS!”

Lau represented Minnetonka High School at the 2016 MSHSL Boys AA Swim & Dive Championships last March, swimming the 100 breast and all three relays. The strategy seemed to pay off, as Minnetonka finished in second place, a mere 7.5 points ahead of #3 Eagan. Lau won the 100 breast with 54.90 and destroyed the Minnesota AA record of 55.44, which had stood since 2011. He also split a 25.14 50 breast on the medley relay, led off the 200 free relay, and anchored the 400 free relay.

His top SCY times are:

  • 50 breast – 26.24
  • 100 breast – 54.81
  • 200 breast – 2:00.91
  • 50 free – 21.74
  • 50 back – 24.41
  • 100 back – 52.29

Lau will be joined in the Princeton University class of 2021 by fellow verbal commits Arthur Markley, Levy Nathan, and Sam Tarter.
