Ryan Carroll of Jersey Wahoos Gives Verbal to Mount St. Mary’s

Ryan Carroll, a senior at Cherokee High School in Marlton, New Jersey, has verbally committed to Mount St. Mary’s University in Emittsburg, Maryland. Carroll swam the 200/500 free double on behalf of Cherokee High at the 2016 New Jersey Public State Team Tournament, but he has a much broader repertoire of events and distances that he will be able to use on behalf of The Mount. Carroll swims everything from free to back to fly, and has made tremendous progress over the last year. In addition to high school swimming, Carroll swims under his father, John Carroll, for Jersey Wahoos in Mt Laurel, New Jersey.

Carroll renewed every one of his best times in the 12 months from July 2015 to July 2016. He had a particularly successful Middle Atlantic Senior Championship Meet in July 2016 to wrap up his long course season. Some of his better events and their times are:

  PB Improvement Y/Y
50y free 22.38 -0.8
100y free 49.00 -1.8
200y free 1:46.36 -6.0
500y free 4:51.53 -10.4
100y back 54.26 -3.5

100y fly 53.68 -1.3

Carroll will join the second season of the new team on The Mount. It was announced in January of 2016 that Mount St. Mary’s, which already had a women’s team competing in the Northeast Conference, would be adding a men’s program.
