Fiona Doyle Among Irish Olympians To Release Spotify Playlist

The Spotify playlists of several Irish Olympians have been published through Team Ireland’s Rio Olympics sponsor Electric Ireland.

Paddy Barnes, Kieran Behan, Sinead Jennings, and swimmer Fiona Doyle have all released their playlists which are geared towards competing, training, and recovery.

Barnes is the most notable athlete of the bunch coming off two Olympic bronze medals, one from the 2008 Games and one from the 2012 Games.

Fiona Doyle is the only swimmer among the four athletes to release her playlist. Doyle is the Irish record holder in all three long course breaststroke disciplines as well as the short course 200m breaststroke.

Doyle trains with Mike Blondal and the University of Calgary Dinos where she’s had a very successful career competing in the CIS, a sports league dedicated for university athletes in Canada.

Last summer she finished third at the World University Games in the 100m breaststroke and second in the 50m breaststroke. Those two medals added to the silver medal she won in the 100m breaststroke at the 2013 edition of the same games.

Doyle will be competing in both the 100 and 200m breaststrokes this summer in Rio as arguably the highest caliber swimmer on the Irish squad.

Doyle speaks about her 12-year journey to qualify for the Rio Olympics here.
