A total of three UNLV athletes were named to the 2014-15 Academic All-WAC freshman/transfer teams, the league office announced last week.
Two of the athletes come from the Rebel men’s soccer team, as first-year players Danny Musovski (Las Vegas) and Oscar Velazquez (North Las Vegas) were both honored.
They were joined by Boris Kulizhnikov from the men’s swimming and diving team. This is the second academic honor for Kulizhnikov this month, as he was also named a CSCAA (College Swim Coaches Association of America) Scholar All-America Honorable Mention last week as well.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic year, have at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average and have participated in at least 50 percent of the team’s contests.
