Xinghao Wang
Xinghao Wang is a breaststroke specialist originally from Lansing, Mich. Wang is a student at the University of Michigan – currently a freshman, he’s studying biomedical engineering in the College of Engineering. Born Oct. 25, 1996 Wang’s father, Lei Wang, attended Northwestern University. Prior to joining the Michigan squad, Wang competed for Mid-Michigan Aquatics and Delphinus Swim Club before that. Academics are very important to Wang – as a student at Grand Ledge High School Wang graduated Summa Cum Laude as a member of the National Honor Society. He was also an Academic All-American, Academic All-State, and he was top 10 in his school. Wang also received the Lansing State Journal Athlete of the Week – he was the only swimmer in the area with top 10 times in each high school swimming event. According to collegeswimming.com Wang was one of the best recruits in the state of Michigan, and among the top 500 recruits in the entire recruiting class of 2014.

Wang is currently in his freshman season as a Michigan Wolverine. He didn’t compete at the Big Ten Championships, but he did compete at the AT&T Winter Nationals and dual meets.

National Competition 
As a student for Grand Ledge, Wang was a high school All-American in the 100 breaststroke – he was the MHSAA D-II State champion in 2014. He served as team captain, and earned the MVP award on three separate occasions. In addition to his Lansing State Journal Athlete of the Week nod, he also was a four-time CAAC Dream Team Selection, chosen by the Lansing State Journal as well.
