As expected, several of the top teams have swapped multiple swimmers for tonight’s final. Australia, England, Wales, and Scotland have all changed their entire quartet, although New Zealand have kept the three of the four who swam this morning.
Australia return Flynn Southam to the leadoff leg, hoping he can repeat the heroics of last night when he dropped a new Games record in the 100 free en route to a dominant victory in the men’s 4×100 free relay. Kyle Chalmers will swim second, and is followed by Shayna Jack and Meg Harris.
Mollie O’Callaghan being left off is the big surprise, although with the 200 free final and an ongoing back injury that had initially ruled her out of competition this summer it looks more expected. Harris led off in 53.07 last night while Jack split 52.64 on the second leg, faster than O’Callaghan’s 52.81 anchor leg.
Jacob Mills and Jacob Whittle will lead off for England, having been the top two legs on the men’s 4×100 free relay last night. They replace Tom Dean and Gabriel Shepherd, who set a new PB of 48.30 on the leadoff this morning.
Freya Anderson will join them with Freya Colbert on the anchor leg, despite both swimming the 200 free final at the start of the session. They split 53.78 and 53.41, respectively, on the women’s relay yesterday.
Matt Richards will swim his first race of the meet for Wales, after the men’s 4×100 free relay was disqualified in the heats yesterday. Richards will lead off, and is followed by Dan Jones, who swam on this relay four years ago, Bex Sutton, and youngster Theodora Taylor. Taylor split 53.42 at European Juniors two weeks ago and set a Welsh record of 54.14 on the leadoff of the women’s 4×100 free relay yesterday, so will be hoping for a repeat of that form tonight.
Scotland bring in Evan Jones, Duncan Scott, Evelyn Davis, and Katie Shanahan. They were the four fastest swimmers from the men’s and women’s relays yesterday, when Scott split 47.48 for the #2 overall split in the men’s race.
New Zealand make just one change, swapping Milana Tapper for Erika Fairweather on the anchor. Tapper split 55.02 this morning, while Fairweather’s flat start best is 54.43.
The Cayman Islands, the Isle of Man, and Uganda all keep their quartets from this morning. Uganda’s Tendo Kaumi set a new national record of 51.14 on the leadoff leg as they also set a new national record on the relay of 3:37.11.

Maybe she chose not to be apart of the relay as well, doesn’t want to do more events and risk the injury as well
