Josh Liendo Named Men’s Division I Academic All-American Team Member of the Year

The College Sports Communicators (CSC) released the men’s Academic All-American lists for all the NCAA Divisions and the NAIA.

The CSC also named four men as the Academic All-American Team Members of the Year.

Division I

Florida’s Josh Liendo is a senior majoring in educational sciences, and he has a GPA of 3.56. He has won two first-team Academic All-American honors during his collegiate career.

At the 2026 NCAA Division I Championships, Liendo won three national titles for the first time in his career, winning the 50 free, 100 free, and 100 fly. He also helped lead Florida to the overall runner-up finish at NCAAs, their highest finish since 1985.

Five Division I Academic All-American members have 4.0 GPAs:

• Jonny Kulow: Arizona State University — Senior, Microbiology
• Rex Maurer: University of Texas — Junior, Finance
• Bridon Rosales: U.S. Air Force Academy — Senior, Aeronautical Engineering
• Joe Polyak: University of Minnesota — Sophomore, Biochemistry
• Liam Preston: Binghamton University — Senior, Business Administration and Finance

Division II

Drury junior Alvaro Zornoza has a 4.0 GPA in mathematics. This is his first time making an appearance on the list.

At the NCAA Division II Championships, Zornoza earned the gold medal in the 200 backstroke, the silver medal in the 100 backstroke, and the bronze medal in the 200 IM. He also finished 12th in the 200 freestyle. He helped lead the Drury men’s team to the national runner-up finish.

There are five members of the Division II Academic All-American team with perfect 4.0 GPAs:

• Alvaro Zornoza: Drury University — Junior, Mathematics
• Peter Csicsaky: Florida Southern College — Junior, Finance
• Joseph Lev-Tov: Colorado School of Mines — Junior, Electrical Engineering
• Adam Wiedemeier: Missouri University S&T — Junior, Psychology

Division III

Cooper Costello, a junior at the University of Chicago has a 3.97 GPA in his double majors of chemistry and romance language and literature. This is his 2nd time earning a spot on the list.

The Chicago team finished 3rd at the Division III Championships, with Costello earning individual titles in the 100 fly, 200 fly, and 200 IM and he participated in the winning 200 free and 400 free relays.

Across the three teams, five men have 4.0 GPAs:

• Tommaso Calviello: Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology — Senior, Biomedical Engineering & Data Science
• Tommy Matheis: Pomona-Pitzer — Sophomore, Mathematics
• Caleb Weis: University of Wisconsin-Whitewater — Senior, Marketing & Communication
• Benjamin Wolking: Bates College — Junior, Biomedical Engineering

NAIA

University of the Cumberlands senior Ruthiik Satti has a 3.77 GPA in business administration and information technology sciences. This is his 2nd time earning a spot on the list.

Satti won the 2026 national title in the 100 back and he finished 4th in the 200 back and 10th in the 100 fly. The University of the Cumberlands finished 2nd at the NAIA Championships for the first time in program history.

There were no perfect 4.0 GPAs across the eight men recognized.
