Irwin hails from Erie, Colorado where she is currently training with Elevation Athletics. Over the summer, she competed at both the Speedo Champions Series-Mount Hood and the TYR Pro Swim Series- Clovis where Irwin swam butterfly, freestyle, and IM events. In the short course season, Irwin competed at the Colorado Swimming Pioneer Open, clocking best times in the 100 free (53.64) and 100 fly (55.85). Irwin’s 2:02.64 in the 200 fly came at the Western Speedo Sectionals- Federal Way in 2017 where she also competed in the 50/100 free, 100 fly, and 200/400 IM.
Irwin attends Erie High School and recently became the schools first swimming champion when she won the 100 fly (55.58) and 50 free (24.32) at the 2019 CHSAA 3A Girls State Championship. The year prior, Irwin competed at the 2018 CHSAA 4A Girls State Championships where she was a 2x finalist.
Washington State swims in the PAC 12 conference where the Cougs placed 8th in the conference. According to WSU’s Top-10 times list, Irwin’s 200 fly would place her 6th all time.
