22.7/49.8 Sprinter Khanh Seaton Verbally Commits to Michigan for 2027-28

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

A month after dropping half a second in the 50 free and a full second in the 100 free, Castro Valley, California’s Khanh Seaton has announced her intention to swim and study at the University of Michigan in the class of 2031. She wrote on social media:

“grateful to announce my commitment to swim and study at the university of michigan! thank you to everyone who’s been part of my journey.. especially coach piankhi, my friends, family, and teammates. huge thanks to coach matt and bryon for believing in me. so excited for what’s ahead. go blue!! 〽️💙”

Seaton is a junior at Castro Valley High School. She swims year-round with Albany Armada Aquatics and specializes in sprints. At the end of the summer, Seaton was a Futures qualifier in the 50/100 free, 100 back, and 200 IM. She’d begun the 2024-25 short-course season with PBs in the 50 free (24.00), 200 back (2:14.08), 100 breast (1:16.55), 200 breast (2:45.93), and 200 IM (2:17.37) in September. A week later, she broke 24 seconds for the first time in the 50 free (23.93), improved her 100 breast by 1.9 (1:14.62), and hit a PB of 1:06.29 in the 100 fly. By the end of the season, she had chipped away at her times in all her events, eventually dropping to 23.34 in the 50 free, 50.84 in the 100 free, 56.82 in the 100 back, 1:07.92 in the 100 breast, 57.26 in the 100 fly, and 2:06.22 in the 200 IM.

In the summer long-course season, Seaton dropped 1 second in the 50 free (26.91), 3 seconds in the 100 free (59.52), 4 seconds in the 50 back (31.21, but her previous PB was 2023), 6 seconds in the 100 back (1:09.74), and 9.7 seconds in the 100 breast (1:25.22).

Seaton jumped right into the 2025-26 short-course season, notching PBs in the 50 free (22.73), 100 free (49.84), 200 free (1:53.08), 100 breast (1:07.92), 200 breast (2:29.69), 100 fly (57.26), and 200 IM (2:06.22) at last month’s Neptune Fall Classic.

Best SCY times:

  • 50 free – 22.73
  • 100 free – 49.84
  • 100 back – 56.82
  • 200 back – 2:06.19
  • 200 IM – 2:06.22

Seaton will join #7 diver Shannon Waldron and swimmer Leila Stafford in Ann Arbor in the fall of 2027. The Wolverines’ sprint group is led by Brady Kendall and Lindsay Flynn, both ‘B’ finalists in the 50 free at 2025 NCAAs and both set to graduate before Seaton arrives. It took 22.55/49.60 to score in the sprint free events at 2025 Big Ten Championships, where the Michigan women placed 3rd behind Ohio State and Indiana.
