Louisville looks impressive
Rex was 4:12.80 at this meet last year if that means anything…
200 IM are promise to her 3000 years ago
ooh kill em
Should Texas women really be ranked #2 in the country?
Texas was missing multiple swimmers today.
What about when Stanford came to town and beat them badly
Cry me a river!
There’s always an excuse. What was the excuse for midseason invite?
No there’s no reason they’re above Stanford
Stanford is the #2 team in the country.
💯
Stanford is #2.
💯
Nope!
The SEC is vastly overrated this season.
Kyle Peck swam extremely well at this meet last year, too.
Really nice 500 there from Rex. Evan Bailey will be a factor in the 800 free relay.
I’m almost wondering if Maurer should skip the 800 free relay to go the mile and have Bailey/Nelson/Wimberly/Taylor for the relay. Reason being we haven’t seen David Johnston in a while and if he’s out, I don’t think Texas has any milers for NCAAs. I don’t think Hammer will get one of the 16 spots this year.
Oh man, I haven’t even considered the new schedule. That would still be a formidable lineup. We’ll see if Maurer swims the mile today.
Texas is going to win the meet so ultimately it doesn’t really matter.
Cal isn’t as strong in the 8 FRR.
Is Texas the favorite with or without Rex?
I’d imagine so? All those guys are capable of 1:30s or faster with a flying start
Not sure who else has a team of 4 like that? Maybe Florida but i’m not sure who make in to replace julian
Gorbenko showing right here why she was robbed for most impactful mid season addition.
25.75/56.6 breast split
26.28/57.67 breast flat start
1.53.53 IM
47.0 free anchor
Damn cheat code
Beginner’s luck!
Robbed! Give her that fake award right now!
Louisville looks good. ACC’s gonna be 🔥
Women’s medley relays are going to be sick!!
They had the pros race a 4 IM against each other.
Men: Casas, Kelly, Marchand, Guiliano -> 2.59.88
Women: Smith, Elendt, McIntosh, Manuel -> 3.23.47
At the end they said the men were DQed due to Leon starting early so the women won hahaha. I think it was on purpose, they were all laughing like crazy!!! This was a super fun part of the meet.
A 400 IM or a 400 Medley Relay?
I was wondering why Elendt was doing backstroke
Oh I think this is obvious but I meant a 400 medley relay, not IM
What were the splits??
Casas was 44 something
Not sure about Kelly
Marchard would have been 43.6
Guiliano was 18.7/21.9, so 40.6ish
Casas was 44.59
Kelly I think 50.8
Leon 43.68 I think
Guiliano 40.7 or so
They should have gone Leon on back and Shaine on butterfly
Casas: 44.59
Smith: 49.32
Kelly: 1.35.50 (50.91)
Elendt: 1.46.58 (57.26)
Marchand: 2.19.18 (43.68)
McIntosh: 2.37.26 (50.68)
Guiliano: 2.59.88 (40.7)
Manuel: 3.23.47 (46.21)
Splits?
Casas: 44.59
Smith: 49.32
Kelly: 1.35.50 (50.91)
Elendt: 1.46.58 (57.26)
Marchand: 2.19.18 (43.68)
McIntosh: 2.37.26 (50.68)
Guiliano: 2.59.88 (40.7)
Manuel: 3.23.47 (46.21)
I thought the same but I think the goal was to make it just for fun so not too competitive. Agreed that it was wild to see Regan losing a relay start by 5 seconds though…
All 10 Texas pros signed autographs before the event though and looks like lots of kids were there and really enthusiastic. So cool seeing these olympians swim SCY at a college meet!!!
Wonder why Elendt wasn’t signing? She’s an Olympian
