17 Miami Redhawks earn Academic All-MAC honors

17 RedHawk women receive honor
 
CLEVELAND – The Mid-American Conference announced its 2015 Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving Academic All-MAC teams Friday. A total of 51 student-athletes were named to the men’s team and 93 to the women’s.

The RedHawks women’s team took the top spot with 17 student-athletes being recognized, while Bowling Green and Eastern Michigan followed with 15 each.

Junior Shannon Ahearn, senior Katie Bootsma, sophomore Elise Campbell, senior Courtney Collett, senior Emma Craig, sophomore Kathleen Dodson, senior Caitlin Fujan, sophomore Jenna Karrow, junior Sara Krueger, sophomore Taylor LeCount, senior Annie Marquiss, senior Whitney Mitchell, junior Stephanie Nemeth, senior Stephanie Pearce, junior Kelly Rogers, junior Emma Szczupakiewicz and junior Elizabeth Zilch earned Academic All-MAC honors this season.

The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
