Watch Rio’s Olympic Construction Through July 2015 (Time-Lapse Video)

The website promoting the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, www.cidadeolimpica.com has shared a time-lapse video of the Olympic construction within the city. Below is their description of the Time Lapse video.

“The Olympic works are in progress. After all, we are a little more than one year before the Rio 2016 Games. The main sporting legacy, the Olympic Park, located in Jacarepaguá, in the West Zone, will host 16 Olympic and nine Paralympic sports.

“Taking shape in an area of 1.18 million square meters, the site will have, for example, the Arena of the Future, which after the event will be dismantled and transformed into four municipal schools (two in Barra, one in São Cristóvão and another in Jacarepaguá).”

“Another benefit that will remain for the locals is under construction: the X-Park in Deodoro. The site, which will have 500 thousand square meters and will feature an artificial lake and a Cycling BMX track will become the second largest leisure park in the city.”

“In addition to the two parks, other work in the final stage is of the Athletes’ Village. The site will host competitors and members of technical committees during the Olympics and Paralympics.”

The Deodora sports complex looked like pre-fabrication only with no actual construction in fast motion. Kind of like Athens. The Olympics are next year, is that Deodora complex still considered on time in the real case scenario?
