JOB DESCRIPTION
MYST is currently seeking a full-time Senior Assistant Coach to oversee all programs and operations. The successful candidate will design and administer a progressive aquatics program that emphasizes good sportsmanship, team unity, family participation, and the overall development of swimmers under the guidance and mentorship of a seasoned head coach with 30+ years of swimming and coaching experience. This role is a key component in our succession plan.
Responsibilities:
1) Management of the team.
2) Direct coaching of swimmers.
3) Supervision of the assistant coaching staff, both part-time and volunteer.
4) Collaboration with the parent board to fulfill the strategic plan and mission of the Team.
Compensation: Compensation will be commensurate with experience ranging from $28,000 to $31,000 annually.
MYST pays for USA/ASCA membership, professional development, and attendance at clinics. Potential for more income with learn-to-swim lessons, clinics and bonus program related to increased membership.
Candidate Qualifications:
Two or more years of coaching experience is preferred. Head Coach experience is not required. All candidates should possess ASCA certification (levels 1 & 2), current USA Swimming coach certifications in good standing, as well as be able to pass appropriate background checks. A Bachelor’s Degree is strongly preferred. Candidates should have experience that illustrates strong management skills, communication and motivation skills, team building and community involvement.
