Jordan MacDonald, who swims for Titusville Swim Team on the east coast of Florida, has committed to the University of South Carolina. MacDonald is a pure sprinter who is best suited to swimming a 50 of butterfly, freestyle or backstroke:

  • 50 freestyle- 23.71
  • 50 butterfly- 25.29
  • 50 backstroke- 27.67
  • 100 freestyle- 52.39
  • 100 butterfly- 56.85

Her 50 freestyle would have ranked third on South Carolina’s team last year, indicating that she can find a space in the Gamecocks lineup right away. Her 50 butterfly should also give head coach McGee Moody some options in the 200 medley relay. Her 100 butterfly should also see some action for South Carolina in dual meets.

None of MacDonald’s individual times would have put her in a scoring position in the SEC conference. It took 53.64 in the 100 butterfly and 49.81 in the 100 freestyle to make a C-Final at last year’s SEC meet.

MacDonald was a third place finisher last year at the Florida 2A High School Swimming and Diving championships in both the 50 freestyle and the 100 butterfly for Titusville High School.
