Founded in 1967 our facility has grown from 1 pool to 7 total pools in our venue. In addition to multiple 8 lane 25 yard pools in 2016 we built an indoor 50m facility exclusively used by the swim team. We currently have 380 athletes eager to get betting in Midland, Texas. Midland has a strong community in full support of the competitive success of our team.
Summary:
We are looking for an Associate Head Coach to work beside the head coach and continue the legacy of City of Midland Swim Team. The coach we are looking for has full time experience and is ready to take on a leadership role on our team.
Qualifications:
- 3 years experience as a full time coach or running a program part time
- Knows how to run swim meets
- Proven track record to develop athletes past the sectional level
- Be in good standing with USA Swimming
Benefits
- After travel weekends and large hosted invites we take Monday or Tuesday off
- Team takes two weeks off in March and August, 1 week is completely off, 1 week is used for coaches planning and prep for the season.

Compensation: This is salaried position. Our goal is to deliver competitive pay alongside benefits. The associate head coach’s salary will be determined by their qualifications.
Coaching Responsibilities
Lead our Sub-sectional senior level group (14-18) or our pre-senior (13-14) and develop them into sectional level athletes or further.
Take on a lead role for a younger group or assistant with our competitive age group.
Hours Per Week: 40 hours expected on non-meet weeks

We are looking for someone who know how to run meets. For all of our home meets the whole full time staff helps with set up and tear down of swim meets. The expectation for meets would be the communication with coaches and administrative follow through.
2x Large Prelim/Final Invites per year
6x Timed final meets per year
All administrative task included
- Coaching Schedule
18-25 hours a week of on deck coaching
- Daily
Office Hours 2-4 hours for administrative task, meetings, and practice prep
- Leadership Responsibilities
Give feedback and recommendations to the head coach about overall progress of the program
Take part in developing our curriculum and culture of COM
Lead coaches education sessions throughout the year
Lead parent education sessions throughout the year
Train meet ops staff to help run our meets
