2014 Invictus Games for Wounded Warriors to Hold Swimming on Sunday in London

The swimming portion of the 2014 Invictus Games will be held on Sunday, September 14th in London, England. The Invictus Games are a multi-sport event designed for members of the world’s military who have suffered “life-changing injuries” in the line of duty.

This year’s Invictus Games feature over 400 competitors from 13 nations:

  • Afghanistan
  • Australia
  • Canada
  • Denmark
  • Estonia
  • France
  • Georgia
  • Germany
  • Italy
  • Netherlands
  • New Zealand
  • UK
  • United States

Among those participating will be University of Hawaii men’s swimming coach Dr. Jan Prins, who is on the team USA coaching staff. The meet is conducted under the rules of the IPC that governs Para-swimming around the world.

In total, there will be 110 swimmers competing in this meet, including several who are participating in 3, 4, or even more different sports across four days.

The iconic London Aquatics Centre that was built for the 2012 Olympic Games will host the swimming events on Sunday.
