Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Morgan Farlow, a Winter Juniors and Junior Nationals qualifier, has announced her verbal commitment to compete for North Carolina beginning in the fall of 2026. She wrote on Instagram:

I am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. I’d like to thank my family, friends/teammates, and my coaches at TFA for your unwavering support throughout this journey. I am grateful to the whole coaching staff at UNC – especially Coach Mark and Coach Kirk for this unbelievable opportunity. GO HEELS!

A senior at Walnut Grove High School in Prosper, Texas, Farlow joined the school’s varsity swimming and diving team as a sophomore after spending her freshman year at Prosper High School. She also swims year-round with Texas Ford Aquatics, where she primarily specializes in middle-distance freestyle, IM, and breaststroke.

Farlow has been on an upward trajectory throughout high school, dropping time in most of her best events each year. Her best times in the 200, 500, and 1650 free, as well as the 400 IM, were all set this past November, while her 200 IM personal best comes from February. Her 200 breast is the only event with a best time set outside of 2025; it came in December 2024.

She has competed at the University Interscholastic League 5A State Championships twice, sweeping the 200 IM and 500 free last February and placing third in the 200 IM and fourth in the 500 free as a sophomore in her debut at the meet.

A two-time Winter Juniors qualifier, Farlow finaled in the 400 IM, 200 breast, and 500 free, finishing 13th, 18th, and 19th respectively, with her 200 breast personal best coming from this meet. Just last month, she touched fifth in the mile with her current best time and improved to 11th in the 500, in addition to placing 25th in the 400 IM, 43rd in the 200 breast, and 47th in the 200 free.

Beyond short course, Farlow qualified for long course Junior Nationals last summer, where she finished 56th in the 400 IM with a season best 5:01.29, 80th in the 400 free with a lifetime best 4:27.78, and 91st in the 200 breast (2:42.32).

Top SCY Times:

  • 200 Freestyle: 1:49.07
  • 500 Freestyle: 4:47.61
  • 1650 Freestyle: 16:27.45
  • 200 IM: 2:01.70
  • 400 IM: 4:17.62
  • 200 Breaststroke: 2:14.90

Under the direction of head coach Mark Gangloff, the Tar Heel women finished sixth out of 15 teams at the 2025 Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Championships.

At the 2025 conference meet, her best time in the mile would have placed her 15th and scored 12 points for the Tar Heels. It took times of 1:58.69/4:16.30 in the IMs, 1:46.56/4:46.77 in the mid-distance freestyles, and 2:13.21 in the 200 breast to score. Outside of the mile, she’s best positioned to score in the 400 IM and 500 free once she arrives on campus, assuming her improvement trajectory continues.

According to the team’s 2024–25 depth charts, she would have ranked third in the 1650 free, fifth in the 500 free, sixth in the 200 breast and 400 IM, eighth in the 200 free, and 11th in the 200 IM. As she develops and the roster evolves through graduation, she is well-positioned to become one of the team’s most versatile swimmers.

Farlow joins the Tar Heels’ class of 2030 recruiting class that includes Tiffany Murillo (distance free) Cate Pawlaski (breast/IM), Nehir Oner (fly/IM), Defne Tanig (fly), and Kenzie Sellars (sprint free), who should all make for strong training partners over the next four years.
