Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Wide-ranging freestyler Arden Keitel has announced her verbal commitment to swim and study at Dartmouth College beginning in the fall of 2027. She publicized the news on SwimCloud, writing:
I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to the admissions process at Dartmouth College. I want to thank my family, friends, and coaches for their support. I would also like to thank Coach Milana and Coach Blair. Go Big Green!!!
A junior at Germantown Academy in Pennsylvania, Keitel has competed for her school’s swimming and diving team since her freshman year while also training year-round with Germantown Academy Aquatic Club.
While competing for Germantown Academy, Keitel has qualified for the Eastern Interscholastic Swimming Championships each year of her career so far. This past February, she had her best performance at the meet to date, highlighted by a near one-second drop in the 200 free (1:50.78) and a fourth-place finish, along with a fifth-place finish in the 100 free (51.92). She also helped the 200 medley relay (23.29 anchor) to bronze and the 400 free relay (51.82 leadoff) to fourth place.
Keitel competed at Speedo Sectionals – St. Mary’s City just over a month later, where she raced both primary and secondary events. Her standout swim came in the 500 free (4:59.49), where she chopped nearly four seconds off her personal best en route to ninth place. She also finished fourth in the 100 free (51.54 SB), eighth in the 50 fly (25.97), ninth in the 50 free (23.94), 10th in the 200 free (1:51.41) and 12th in the 100 fly (57.83).
Keitel owns a best time of 51.39 in the 100 free, set in February 2024.

A Division I Mid-Major program, Dartmouth competes in the Ivy League, with the women’s team placing eighth out of eight teams at this past season’s conference championships. Based on her current lifetime bests, Keitel would have qualified for the “C” finals in the 200/500 free, while it took times of 23.32/50.72 to make it back in the 50/100 free, and she still has a season and a half to continue dropping time before heading to Hanover.
Keitel joins Georgia Howard, Elise Panna, and Elise Nguyen in committing to Dartmouth’s class of 2031.
*Note: A verbal commitment between an Ivy League coach and a prospective student-athlete is not an offer of admission, as only the Admission Office has that authority. The coach can only commit his or her support in the admission process. Ivy League Admission Offices do not issue “Likely Letters” before October 1 of the prospective student-athlete’s senior year of high school. The Likely Letter, while issued after an initial read of the student’s application, is not an offer of admission to the university.
