PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Argos dominated in the water at home, earning a pair of wins against Montevallo and Texas Rio Grande Valley, Saturday afternoon.

Alena Rozova made a big impact in the pool today. She finished the 100 Breast in first with a time of 1:04.55. Freshman Hollace Stokes finished right behind Rozova with a time of 1:07.69.

Rozova then swam the 100 Free with an impressive time of 52.64, finishing in first place.

Sofia Kendzior finished in first in the 1650 Free, with a time of 18:11.63. Kendzior anchored the 400 Free Relay team that finished in first. The relay team’s time was 3:33.81.

Freshman Livia Rodrigues made an NCAA B cut in the 100 Back. She finished with a time of 55.77. Rodrigues also finished in first in the 200 Breast with a time of 2:20.71.

In the diving well, Katie Murphy finished in first in the 1-meter (6 dives) event. Her final score was 261.83, which was her second qualifying score, inviting her to the NCAA Qualifying Meet. She received her first qualifying score last weekend at FSU.

Adriana Mieses-Sanchez finished in second place in the 1-meter (6 dives) event. Her score of 257.10 gives her a qualification score for the NCAA Qualifying Meet. She needs one more score to be invited to that meet.

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros swimming & diving program defeated Montevallo (UM), 178-110, and fell 167-123 to West Florida (UWF), which is ranked No. 7 in the NCAA Div. II poll, Saturday at the UWF Aquatic Center.

The Vaqueros earned four event wins at the West Florida Tri-Meet while also breaking one school record as freshman Sarah Bull swam a 5:09.70 in the 500 freestyle to secure the win.

Sophomore Annaleagh Stahl led the charge for the Vaqueros, earning wins in the 200 backstroke (2:05.36) and the 200 individual medley (2:12.58) while also earning second in the 100 backstroke (58.10).

Senior Delaney Murphy picked up another win for UTRGV, scoring a 254.20 in the 1-meter springboard. Meanwhile, freshman Samantha Hill scored a 208.73 to capture third in the event.

The meet kicked off with the 200 medley relay as the team off freshmen Sasapin Sarawas and Ava Light, sophomore Ida Rudelius, and freshman Dia Henderson earned third after combining for a time of 1:50.78.

Rudelius was valuable for the Vaqueros in the butterfly events, securing second in the 200 (2:14.14) and third in the 100 (1:01.38).

Henderson continues to shine in the sprints, finishing second in the 100 freestyle (54.53) and third in the 50 freestyle (25.06). Meanwhile, Bull finished third in the 100 freestyle after swimming a 55.81.

In the 200 breaststroke, freshman Jaydy Jay earned a second-place finish with a time of 2:25.79. Afterwards, freshman Marina Johnson finished third in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:21.44.

The Vaqueros wrapped up the meet with the 400 freestyle relay where the team of Rudelius, Bull, junior Olivia Votava, and Henderson earned second with a time of 3:40.33.

Up next, UTRGV will continue their road trip with a dual meet at Bowling Green from Nov. 14-15.

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Montevallo women’s swimming team battled hard on the road Saturday in a tri-meet against No. 7 West Florida and UTRGV. The Falcons turned in multiple strong individual efforts, highlighted by several podium finishes.

UM fell 175-94 to the host Argonauts and 178-110 to UTRGV, but several Falcons posted season-best times and top-five placements. Senior Keara McGee led the way with two event wins, capturing first place in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 56.68, the fourth-fastest in program history, and in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:09.95, the 10th-fastest mark in school history.

UP NEXT: The Falcons return to Lewis-Rudakas Natatorium next Saturday, Nov. 8 when they host Berry for the annual Sea of Purple Meet. Action is set to begin at 11:00 a.m.
