Watch: Music Video Released For Official Theme Song of Rio Games

Brazilian DJ duo Tropkillaz have released their new music video for the Olympic theme song named Alma e Curacao (Heart and Soul).

The music video is set in Rio to the various beautiful scenery. The video follows real life aspiring child athletes in their quest to become a champion and someday possibly compete at the Olympics. At the end, the children dance to the music after accomplishing a goal that they’ve set.

The lyrics are motivational and uplifting. The following is part of the chorus:

“A new world with only good people,

This is my place,

I was not born yesterday;I keep on following this mission,
And so I’ll get there,

Make it happen, fight and win,

I have faith to walk, and so I go

Oh, Oh, Oh, soul and heart.”

The two singers in the video are rapper Proteja and pop singer Thiaguinho.

“It’s a song about overcoming a situation. It’s about lifting your self-esteem, about running, fighting, making things happen.” said Proteja

“Sport teaches us a lot of things,” Thiaguinho says. “It gives people an equal opportunity to compete regardless of their financial situation. It teaches you that some days you win, some days you lose, just as in life.”
