WATCH: Missy Franklin & Teri McKeever press conferences from California

In the lead-up to the Pac-12 and NCAA Championships, the University of California hosted press conferences with head women’s swim coach Teri McKeever and star sophomore Missy Franklin, who is in her final season with Cal before she’ll turn pro.

At the 7:28 mark in Missy’s press conference, I’m pretty sure the reporter called her Natalie. Oops.

Great interview. I am glad that Missy Franklin will now be able to accept the money that has been coming her way for quite some time now.

What was with the guy asking about the “amateur olympics”? Why was he having so much trouble understanding the idea of going pro?

Yeah, that “amateur Olympics” bit was a really dumb line of questioning from a guy who obviously doesn’t know his Olympic history. Missy handled that very well.
